Ivonne joined the Tufts Lyme Initiative in January 2024. She earned her Bachelor’s in Biochemistry from Lehigh University, where she conducted thesis research on the role of a novel heparin receptor in vascular wound healing. At the Strle Lab, Ivonne has been isolating clinical Borrelia isolates from Lyme disease patient samples. Her current research focuses on analyzing clinical data from patients with Lyme neuroborreliosis and tick-borne encephalitis to explore a potential immune basis for post-treatment symptomology.
