GMOs against Lyme Disease

Genetic editing has become a powerful tool in creating genetically modified organisms.  What if you could genetically modify mice and ticks to be resistant to the Lyme disease bacterium?  You could break the cycle of transmission and greatly reduce disease transmission.

In this video, Dr. Sam Telford discusses his collaboration with Dr. Kevin Estvelt (MIT) to try to impact Lyme disease by creating mice that express antibodies that protect them against infection.
