Hasika Suresh is a PhD student in the Chemical and Biological Engineering department at Tufts University. Her research is focused on developing microneedles for tunable drug delivery and biomarker sampling. Particularly, she is working on developing the Cross Over Lithography (COL) and Cross over arc lithography (COAL) to move towards high throughput manufacturing of microneedles, while matching the accuracy of cleanroom fabricated needles. She is currently working on investigating the use of hollow microneedles to detect important biological markers and microorganisms in interstitial fluid and superficial tissues. She is also involved in making sensing platforms to screen exoelectrogens for their wide spread applications in wastewater treatment and environmental remediation. She has been working to develop the microneedle technology for the diagnosis and treatment of Lyme disease
