John Presloid, Ph.D.

Research Synopsis:

John is a postdoctoral researcher in the Hu lab. His previous work on Lyme used microscopy to analyze real-time bacterial movement and behavior during infection, and how disrupting this movement changes the dynamics of infection. This led to the discovery of a mutant which he used to develop as an attenuated vaccine against Lyme disease. Currently he is focused on bacterial-host interactions during infection and using them to predict/prevent disease progression. In his free time he likes to travel, play tennis, and win Jeopardy (see how many "interesting" story tangents you can get him on!).
